Sam Oldshue is a woodworker, architectural designer, and elementary school teacher based in Brooklyn, NY. He founded Studio Ami in 2023. He is dedicated to working with clients to execute projects with intention and care at every phase of the process. Since 2013, Sam has been completing custom work with that same attention to detail. He received a B.A. in Architecture from Yale University and has worked as a builder, designer, and carpenter for TimberHomes Vermont and Davies Toews Architecture.

His design projects consider what it means to move together, how space is made and remade by its occupants, and how compassion for people and place is practiced in building. These questions have led him to teaching art and design and the construction of collective art practice.
