Working to visually describe a single dish, a chickpea and tomato soup, I illustrated the layered nature of my mother's cookbook that relies on former recipe's and was passed down to my sister and I when we each moved out into places with their own kitchen.

 

Each image, like each dish, relies on the recipe behind it, cascading down into the final product.
